Well done to all of the pupils who were selected as class Pupil of the Week this week. It is great to see so many pupils being recognised for working hard, being kind and taking responsibility.

There will be a Parent Council Meeting on Monday 30th September 2013 at 6.15pm in the school to discuss arrangements and volunteers for this year’s Halloween Party.We look forward to seeing as many people as possible at the meeting as this is a big event to organise and we need quite a few volunteers to help on the night. Its always been one of the highlights for children so we really want to continue with the party.

What a lovely afternoon at Tollcross Primary, we watched a wonderful show based on the book Charlotte’s Web by American author E. B. White. Everyone really enjoyed it !

A group of Danish student teachers from University College Nordjylland visited Tollcross today. This was an opportunity to share information and for the students and teachers to speak to pupils and staff about Curriculum for Excellence and learning at Tollcross.

Can you help with Golden Time activities ?

This term we hope to offer pupils a wider range of activities for Golden Time and we are looking for parents to come in and help. Golden Time is on a Friday morning from 11.45 to 12.30, pupils look forward to Golden Time and it is a great opportunity for pupils to spend time with friends enjoying an activity they have chosen. Activities include – gardening, games, knitting, art and craft. Please leave a comment below if you able to help or contact the school office.

Please look in school bags on Monday for your child’s EE2 Form. Forms should be completed and returned to school as soon as possible. EE2 forms enable us to have up to date information about your child for  school visits, swimming and other school activities. Your help in getting forms back to us quickly is much appreciated.

Welcome to  Hazel MacIntyre who has recently joined our staff team at Tollcross. Hazel will be teaching Primary 2 and has enjoyed her first few days at Tollcross. We are delighted to have Hazel at Tollcross and we all look forward to working with her.

It was lovely to see all our pupils back at Tollcross today. Everyone looked taller, smarter and ready for a new school year. We have lots of new pupils at Tollcross and we hope they had a good first day too.

All of the staff are looking forward to welcoming  our pupils back to school tomorrow. We have lots of new children joining our Tollcross family and a new teacher too. Miss MacIntyre joins our staff team as our new Primary 2 teacher.

Tollcross staff returned to school today. Work on the boiler is complete  and we hope to benefit from the new heating system when the weather gets colder. Lots of time was spend unpacking boxes and setting up rooms and classroom. All of the staff are looking forward to welcoming our pupils back to Tollcross on Thursday 15th August !
