“If you are looking to put your child in a school in Edinburgh the best school would be Tollcross Primary School !” Emma P6
P6 had a great day climbing at the Ratho Climbing Arena as part of their Junior Award Scheme Scotland (JASS). Pupils had the opportunity to go climbing, bouldering and abseiling. Everyone participated well and supported each other, well done !
Please see our class blog for more photographs of P6 in action or click here.

P7 had a lovely French breakfast with croissants, bread, jam and hot chocolate.
A big Tollcross welcome to our two new Active Schools co-ordinators, Jonathan and Graeme. They will be sending out a questionnaire to all of our families and asking pupils about the types of physical activities they would like to take part in. They have lots of great ideas for getting our pupils more active and we are looking forward to working with them. Please keep an eye out for the questionnaires appearing in school bags !
P6 have been working with Kate MacKay from Alchemy Arts to produce banners for a Medieval weekend in the Grassmarket. The Festival marks 500 years of the Flodden wall and fits in with our Social Studies topic – “Old Edinburgh”. All P6 pupils, friends and families at Tollcross are welcome to come along to the event and join in the fun.
There will be a Parent Council Meeting on Monday 30th September 2013 at 6.15pm in the school to discuss arrangements and volunteers for this year’s Halloween Party.
We look forward to seeing as many people as possible at the meeting as this is a big event to organise and we need quite a few volunteers to help on the night. Its always been one of the highlights for children so we really want to continue with the party.
