The Fair Trade Committee will be running a pop-up shop on Thursday where there will be a selection of fair trade products available to buy. All classes will have an opportunity to visit during the school day. 

Congratulations to P4, P5a, P5b and P6 who have read 100 books so far in their class during DEER time! We will be looking to see which class have read the most books next Friday and the winning class will receive £20 to choose new books for their class. Happy reading! 📚

On Thursday we welcome back the book fair. We will be having our postponed character parade at 9.15am in the playground which you are welcome to join us for. After this we will go into the hall for a whole school booknic where everyone can bring their favourite book to read. Pupils are invited to dress up on Thursday as a favourite character and have been making character crowns in class this week that they can wear. 📚 The book fair will be open for half an hour after school on Thursday, Friday and Tuesday. Pupils will also have a chance to visit with their class next week!

This morning Emily MacKenzie visited P1, P1/2 and P2. We had a wonderful time listening to her stories and learning how to draw her characters. We learned about her inspiration behind some of the characters and the journey she went on to become an author and illustrator. We definitely have some budding illustrators in the making here at Tollcross! We will be ordering several copies of her books over the next few weeks for pupils to borrow and share with you at home, we hope you enjoy the stories as much as we do! Thanks to the First Minister’s Reading Challenge- Inspiring Classrooms project for the funding to allow this to happen.
