Coorie-In at Home

Hello!

We hope you are sitting comfortably for the this week’s  ‘Coorie-In at home’. Today our story is read by Mrs Frew!

Here is the link to today’s story- https://youtu.be/xu66RBvCRYM

And you will spot at the end of the video an idea for today’s craft! The one in the video is very special. Could you create your own animal using a toilet roll? Maybe you could make a home for them too!

📚 We are really enjoying hearing about some of the books that you have been reading at home and the recommendations that you have!
We would love if you could send us pictures of you reading in your favourite spot or send us a picture of your favourite book.
We love to hear about more books that you would recommend to others. Let us know what the books are and why you recommend them. Like a mini book review! Hopefully this will keep encouraging us to read lots of different books and stories at home.

You can send these through twitter to @TollcrossP or by emailing them to admin@tollcross.edin.sch.uk and we can share them on the school blog.

Happy reading! 📚

The ‘Coorie-In’

Hello!

We hope you are sitting comfortably for our second ‘Coorie-In at home’. Today our story is all about an unusual guest who comes to tea 🐯.

And here are some ideas for today’s craft-

Can you create your own tin of tiger food using a toilet roll tube or an old tub? You could design the front of the tin and even list the ingredients on the back. Here is my Tiger food along with some ideas to help get you started:

If you fancy a challenge you could draw your own tiger!

📚 We are also loving hearing about some of the books that you have been reading at home and the recommendations that you have!

We’d love you to send us pictures of you reading in your favourite spot or send us a picture of your favourite book. We would also love to hear about books that you would recommend to others. Coorie-in with a story 📖

Ms Richardson and I have really been missing the ‘Coorie-In’ and so we are going to share a story with you each week read by someone from Tollcross.

We will be posting these on the main blog and on Twitter every Tuesday.

Until then here is a story P1 have been reading (it is one of Ms Brand’s favourites). To hear it click on the link below-

Where the Wild Things Are

and here are some craft activities you could try at home!

We would love to see what you create and where you love to ‘coorie-in’ with a book! Tweet us your pictures @Tollcross_P

This is my all time favourite story Ms Dripps, brilliant choice 😊

Book week at Tollcross

We are very excited that it is almost book week at Tollcross and we have lots of events planned to celebrate reading. On Thursday 5th of March everyone is invited to dress up as their favourite book character. We will be parading around the playground at 9.15am and you are welcome to join us for this.

On Tuesday 3rd of March there will be a family costume making session after school at 3.30pm in the P7 classroom where you can use art resources to create a costume to wear on the Thursday.
