Today we celebrated our lovely Mrs Frew. Over the last 18 years Bev has supported so many families at Tollcross Primary and we will all miss her.
We wish her lots of exciting adventures to come ❤️

We are delighted to be part of the King’s Theatre Time Capsule project. The time capsule contains postcards written by our pupils as part of a creative challenge, where they were asked to imagine life in 2062 – which will be the 150th anniversary of Tollcross Primary School.

Congratulations to everyone who helped us to achieve our Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award.
Here are some of the comments from our accreditation report –
There is a strong commitment and ethos to the continued focus of placing CRC at the heart of learner’s experiences. Incorporating the school’s values of kindness, respect and being safe ensures that there is a shared understanding of how rights and values are key components in the school’s foundations.
Pupils and visitors to the school are welcomed by the UNCRC display at the main entrance, this child led poster is used as a statement that reinforces that rights are central to the learning environment. Class charters are negotiated each year and are used so as to engage children and staff in rights-based discussions.
With child led committees, pupils felt comfortable expressing their opinions and were active agents who participated in decisions about school life.
It was clear that children and adults collaborate to maintain and develop the school community. Examples provided was the celebration calendar which captured a wider understanding and recognition of the diverse community which the school serves.
On Sunday 2nd June 2024 our staff team took part in the Race for Life event in memory of our much loved friend and colleague Lynn McLaren. Together we raised £3,941.25 for Cancer Research UK ❤️

A big thank you to everyone who came along to support our P7 Careers Event this morning. This was an opportunity for our P7 children to find out more about the skills needed for learning, business and future jobs. A big thank you to Ms Callachan and Ms Steel for organising this event.

We are all ready to celebrate National Numeracy Day next week!

Thank you to Sophie McNiven and Carey Conry for a wonderful morning of dancing fun. It was lovely to see so many families joining us at lunch time. We raised £418.32 for our school fund. This money will be used for education trips and outings 🪩💃

Wonderful P4 Assembly this morning. Lots of learning about looking after our planet, the brain and space. Brilliant performance and amazing singing !
