We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our School Open Day tomorrow. We have just had our classrooms painted and our P6 and P7 Tour Guides are keen to show you round the school.
Hour Code
Tollcross Primary has signed up for Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a self-guided activity that every student, in every classroom, can do. A variety of hour-long tutorials will be available for students to try out the basics of computer science.

JRSO
Our Junior Road Safety Officers spoke to us at our school assembly today. They spoke about the importance of taking extra care going home from school now that it is darker at night. They recommended wearing bright clothes and reflective armbands. They also told us about a special competion for P1 and P2.
P6 Visit Gladstone’s Land
P6 had a brilliant morning at Gladstone’s Land finding out what life was like in Edinburgh in the 1600s. Thank you to our two lovely tour guides who helped us learn so many interesting facts about Old Edinburgh. More photos on our class blog.

Fundraising Tea Towel Designed by Tollcross Pupils
Our pupils have created a self-portrait tea towel to raise money for our school. Pupils have drawn their own portrait and added it to a collage of all the pupils at Tollcross Primary. Please help by buying some tea towels, they make great Christmas presents. Orders will be taken at the Halloween Party and an order form has gone out in school bags today. Remember to come along and join in the Fun ! Tickets for the Halloween Party can be purchased from the School Office or on the night, tickets cost £2.50. All children must be accompanied by an adult (adults will also require a ticket). This will be a great party and an opportunity to meet your friends and have fun. The Halloween Party is this Friday, 25th October and starts at 6.30 until 8.00pm. Remember to look your most scary as prizes will be awarded for the best costume !
Strange Town Drama at Tollcross
There are some places left in the drama groups that start after the October break at Tollcross. Drama is a great way of boosting confidence, encouraging team work and sparking creativitiy.
