Book Parade ……coming soon.

On Friday 14th March everybody is invited to come to school dressed as a favourite character from a book. Parents and teachers can dress up too. Parents and carers are invited to come to watch the costume parade in the playground at about 9.15am. There will be coffee, tea and cakes available in the dining room immediately after.

Please come and join us for this fun event in the school year. We love seeing all the clever ideas for costumes.

Hola Madrid

A big thank you to the staff and pupils at Colegio Joaquin Blume in Madrid for the wonderful welcome we received when we visited the school last week. It was very interesting to find out how bilingual education is developed at Joaquin Blume and to speak with the staff and pupils. We were really impressed by the children’s skills in English and enjoyed visiting classes. We are looking forward to May when the Spanish teachers will visit Tollcross. Hasta Luego !

Congratulations to Nukso

Nuko’s poster has won the Safer Internet Day competition organised by Edinburgh City Council and Police Scotland. Safer Internet Day promotes safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. Nukso will attend the Edinburgh event on Tuesday 11/2/14 to collect the prize, an ipad mini for our school. Well Done Nukso, we are all very proud of you !

War Horse

Primary 7 and some Primary 6s attended a performance of War Horse at the Festival Theatre this afternoon.

We were all moved by the powerful story of a boy and his horse set against the backdrop of the First World War.

As always our children were perfectly behaved and a credit to Tollcross. Image
