Golden Time
Can you help with Golden Time activities ?
This term we hope to offer pupils a wider range of activities for Golden Time and we are looking for parents to come in and help. Golden Time is on a Friday morning from 11.45 to 12.30, pupils look forward to Golden Time and it is a great opportunity for pupils to spend time with friends enjoying an activity they have chosen. Activities include – gardening, games, knitting, art and craft. Please leave a comment below if you able to help or contact the school office.

Stay Safe Online !
Tollcross pupils have been thinking about how to stay safe online. Aria and Nukso created this poster to help pupils think about information they provide online. We hope this poster will be useful for everyone !
Look out for EE2 Forms in School Bags on Monday !
Please look in school bags on Monday for your child’s EE2 Form. Forms should be completed and returned to school as soon as possible. EE2 forms enable us to have up to date information about your child for school visits, swimming and other school activities. Your help in getting forms back to us quickly is much appreciated.
Miss MacIntyre Joins our Tollcross Family
Welcome to Hazel MacIntyre who has recently joined our staff team at Tollcross. Hazel will be teaching Primary 2 and has enjoyed her first few days at Tollcross. We are delighted to have Hazel at Tollcross and we all look forward to working with her.
Great First Day Back at School
It was lovely to see all our pupils back at Tollcross today. Everyone looked taller, smarter and ready for a new school year. We have lots of new pupils at Tollcross and we hope they had a good first day too.
Looking Forward to Welcoming Everyone Back to School
All of the staff are looking forward to welcoming our pupils back to school tomorrow. We have lots of new children joining our Tollcross family and a new teacher too. Miss MacIntyre joins our staff team as our new Primary 2 teacher.
A Big Hello from the Staff at Tollcross
Tollcross staff returned to school today. Work on the boiler is complete and we hope to benefit from the new heating system when the weather gets colder. Lots of time was spend unpacking boxes and setting up rooms and classroom. All of the staff are looking forward to welcoming our pupils back to Tollcross on Thursday 15th August !
Happy Holidays from Tollcross Primary
Our school is now boxed up in preparation for work to begin on upgrading our boiler over the summer holidays. We wish all our Gaelic colleagues good luck in their new school which opens in August. Any news and further updates will be posted over the summer, best wishes and happy holidays from everyone at Tollcross Primary .

Edinburgh Art Festival Explorers
Kate and Alchemy Arts would like to thank all the staff and pupils of for all the ideas and inspiration you have given for the Edinburgh Art Festival Explorers Trail. The wonderful ideas and artwork contributed by staff and pupils are now with the Edinburgh art Festival artists and designers and being made into the Edinburgh Art Festival Explorers guide and map.
From the 1st August the map and guide will be available to collect from the City Art Centre, Fruitmarket Gallery and Dovecot Studios. Families will be able to follow the guide, completing creative activities and collecting stamps along the way. Once all the stamps have been collected, families will be able to redeem a special limited edition prize from Trinity Apse, where they will also have the chance to play an extraordinary musical art piece!
We will be launching the Map and Guide at International Play Day on Wed 31st July. This will be the very first time the map and guide is available to the public. We would like to invite all Tollcross staff and pupils along to collect their map and guide and to celebrate all the hard work that has gone into it. We will also be running large scale
interactive art workshops which families can join in with.
International Play Day will take place on the Royal Mile between 12.30-4pm Wed 31 July. The whole Royal Mile from the city Chambers to North Bridge will be taken over by exciting play activities including a giant sandpit, huge water play area, magic potion making and the Edinburgh Art Festival Explorers art zone.
Edinburgh Art Festival Explorers can be found in the quadrangle of the City Chambers and will be creating some weird and wonderful art works.
