Visit Edinburgh Castle … for free !

Edinburgh Castle Free entry on 1st Dec 2013 (St. Andrews Weekend)

Book your tickets for as many of Historic Scotland’s stunning attractions as you’d like. And it won’t cost you a penny. Just pick which sites you want to visit over St Andrew’s weekend, print your tickets and enjoy a great day out for up to two adults and three children per visit. But don’t delay. Ticket giveaway will close at 5pm on Friday 29 November. Tickets are limited.

Switch-Off Fortnight 18 November – 1 December 2013

Tollcross Primary is joining thousands of schools to take part in the Switch-Off Fortnight Campaign. This is an excellent way to teach our pupils about energy issues and the importance of using energy efficiently. It is deliberately timed for the start of the darker and colder months when we start to use more heating and lighting. As part of our Switch-Off Fortnight each class will have two Switch-Off Monitors to help raise awareness of how we use energy at school. Support our school Switch-Off Campaign by wearing something bright to school on Friday (22/11/13).

Our Junior Road Safety Officers spoke to us at our school assembly today. They spoke about the importance of taking extra care going home from school now that it is darker at night. They recommended wearing bright clothes and reflective armbands. They also told us about a special competion for P1 and P2.
